👉さあ、jam という動詞が出てきましたね。「コピー機が紙詰まりを起こす」という動詞。
これは、日本語にもなっていますよね。
② I’ve fixed these before.【 fix が持つニュアンス 】
👉さあ、ここでは「直す」という意味で、fix という動詞が使われています。
fix はもちろん「固定する」という意味なんですが、壊れてしまった物というのは、部品が
バラバラになってしまったイメージがありますよね。ですから、この「固定する」- 「正しい場所に
固定する」ことが、「直す」につながっているわけです。
③ The librarian said it’s tricky.【 libraries の発音と tricky の意味 】
👉さあ、librarian という名詞が出てきました。これは、「図書館員・司書」という単語ですが、
しっかりと発音に注意しましょう。

👉さあ、ここでは before the bell rings というフレーズが出てきましたね。
「ベルがなる前に」というわけですが、「ベルが鳴る」というのはこの時点から見れば、
「未来」の出来事です。ですが、will や be going to などを必要としないんですね。
なぜかというと、「ベルが鳴る前に」-「ベルが鳴る」というのが「前提」になっている発言だからです。
こういう時には、「現在形」ですよ。
