David
▶︎ OK, everyone. It’s time for today’s “Pronunciation Polish.”
I’m telling you it’s a good one. All right.
Here’s today’s phrase.
・If you cause an accident, there’ll be serious consequences.
・If you cause an accident, there’ll be serious consequences.

OK.
We a couple of main points to zoom in on today.
So let’s begin.
First up, we have a couple of schwa sounds here
First is the “you” at the start.
if you, if you, if you

All right.
Next, we’ll join up “cause” and “an accident.”
cause an accident, cause an accident

The /t/ in “accident” will also disapear.
Remember there’s a pause here.
So “cause an accident.”
if you cause an accident

All right.
Next up, here’s the second schwa.”
there’ll be, there’ll be
there’ll be serious consequences. there’ll be serious consequences

All right.
Let’s try to put those together.
・If you cause an accident, there’ll be serious consequences.
・If you cause an accidnet, there’ll be serious consequences.

OK.
Let’s speed it up to natural speed.
・If you cause an accident, there’ll be serious consequences.
・If you cause an accident, there’ll be serious consequences.

All right.
That one was a little bit tough.
Don’t worry if it’s not perfect.
Just keep practicing,
and you’ll get there.
