Dialogue

I had to thake you this place at least once. 【 had to と at least の意味
👉 had to これはもちろん have to の過去形ですね。「〜しなければいけませんでした」
というわけですね。
▶︎ at least は「少なくとも」「最小の点では」という意味です。
least は、 little – less – least、little の最上級ですね。

② Steak and eggs is their specialty. 【 specialty の意味
👉 specialty これは「名物、自慢の料理」という意味です。

I’ve never had steak for breakfast before. 【 have never の意味
👉 I’ve never という形が出てきましたね。現在完了、経験の否定です。
「私は決して〜したことがない」という意味です。

I like my eggs scrambles.【 さりげなく目的説明型
👉これは目的語説明型です。eggs が scrambled された状況のものが好きだ、
と言っているわけです。scramble という動詞は、「ごちゃごちゃにする」
そうしたニュアンスの動詞です。

▶︎ Ah 〜, some people are sensitive to flavors mixing.
So maybe you have eggs on one plate, and pancakes on another.
They just don’t want their flavors and foods to mix.

Roza
▶︎ Usually, I don’t like mixing my food, but pancakes and eggs is
the only exception, and bacon of course.
