👉 have という動詞が出てきました。ここでは、having ing の形になっていますね。
この have というのは、「近くにある、周りにある」という、それだけのことを
意味しているんですね。従って、「私をここに居させてくれて、お迎えしてくれて」
という意味になるわけです。

② Please, call me Tom. 【 call を用いた目的語説明型の文 】
👉さあ、目的語説明型が出てきました。me ＝ Tom の関係を意識して、
この文を解釈してくださいね。

③ Tom, you’re running for governor. 【 run for の意味 】
👉さあ、「〜に出馬する、立候補する」これが、run for というですね、フレーズと
なっています。何かこう、一生懸命それに向かって走っている、そんなふうに考えると
覚えるかもしれません。

④ Now, you say you’re against reducing taxes. 【 against の意味 】
👉 against という前置詞が出てきました。「〜に反対する」そうしたニュアンスで
使われる前置詞です。
▶︎そして、ここでは reduce という動詞も出てきました。「小さくする」
という動詞です。
