First, let’s check out today’s sentence.

All right. Lots of points here, but let’s zoom in and practice them together.

First up is “was” plus “he.”
When linking, the “h” in words like “he, his, him and her” disappear,
So listen closely.
was he, was he

Then we add “a.” It becomes “was he a, was he a.”
was he a person

“Person” plus “of” becomes “person of, person of.”

Great work,
“Some” here, that ”o” sound is nice short, becomes /ə/.

Plus “importance.”
