Pronunciation Polish

David
▶︎ All right, everyone. Great work so far.
And here we are finally at “Pronunciation Polish.”
Let’s take a look at today’s sentence.
・It’s getting better little by little.
・it’s getting better little by little.

Now, right. today’s a fun one, see?
I speak American Engish, and in American English
this “t” in the middle of a word like “getting,” or “better,” or “little,
we change this into a “d” sound to make it smooth and easier to say.
So let’s focus on each of these examples, master them and practice together.
Here we go!
getting, getting

All right. Good work.
Now …
better, better

Very nice.
Next up is …
little, little

It’s a little tough with that “l” sound, but do your best.
little

All right.
Now let’s put these together.
getting better, getting better
little by little, little by little

Excellent! All right?
Now put it all together.
・It’s getting better little by little.
・It’s getting better little by little.

Oh, Fantastic!
So are you!

Ending

Onishi
▶︎ I’ll stand by you no matter what!

David
▶︎ Sensei, thank you so much.
That means so much to me.

Onishi
▶︎ What are you talking about? I’m just practicing.

David
